Blaze Orange Hunting Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

Finished Size:  One size fits most adults

Materials:

• 1 skein – Hobby Lobby “I Love This Yarn!” – Orange  OR
• 2 skeins – Lion brand “FUN” – Orange
• Size “H” hook
• Yarn Needle

Gauge:   3.5 hdc = 1 inch

Pattern Notes:   Hat can be made shorter, into a regular beanie, by crocheting approx. 23 rounds.

Abbreviations

ch – chain

sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

hk – hook

yo – yarn over

Ch2(counts as 1^st hdc),

Round 1:  8hdc in 2^nd ch from hook, slip stitch to top of beg ch, do not turn. (9 hdc)

Round 2:  ch1 (does not count as hdc throughout this pattern), 2hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch in top of 1^st hdc. (18 hdc)

Round 3:  ch1, hdc in 1^st hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1^st hdc. (27 hdc)

Round 4:  ch1, hdc in 1^st hdc, hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 2 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1^st hdc. (36 hdc)
