Crochet Resolutions for 2012

Looking back and reviewing, I realized my one resolution for 2011 was to go on a yarn diet…..to which I failed miserably, which is exactly why I don’t normally do “resolutions”.  If there is an area I want to work on, I don’t like to wait until the new year, I like to work on it asap.  But I also know it is a great day for new beginnings.  So, I’ve decided to begin again.  I’m going back on my yarn diet. Starting tomorrow…..HA! Just kidding. I do have a gift card to A.C.Moore, but I’m praying I use only what’s on the card and don’t go over.  After that, it’s all stash!  So, who’s with me?  I’m going to attempt to post “stash busters” more often.  (small, free projects to use up our stash)

I’ve also been doing a lot of reflection on my business, and this blog.  When I first began, two years ago, I had a few goals.

  • Connect with other crocheters
  • Share my love of crocheting
  • Keep track of new stitches I’ve learned, and share them with others

Since then, my goals have changed slightly.  I admit I got sidetracked using Facebook for my business, and while there’s nothing wrong with facebook, it isn’t helping me get to my goals.  So, I will still use facebook, but my blog will be back up to the top of my priority list.  Here’s what I will be working on in the new year.

  • Helping others learn to crochet
  • Tutorials of specific stitches
  • More free projects, especially “stash busters”
  • Help others with their crocheting “problems”
  • Work on getting my charity up and running

So, with my new goals set, I’d love to hear if there are certain stitches you’d like tutorials of, or crochet problems you’d like some help solving.  (I do have a request for a tutorial of the ball stitch, which will be one of the first things I work on).

God has placed a desire on my heart to start a charity for those who have lost children, through either stillbirth, or preemie’s that cannot survive outside the womb.  I’ll be collecting small blankets and hats, but I’ll be releasing more details in the next week or so.

Drop me a line and let me know what your goals are, or if there’s anything specific you’d like to see.  I look forward to the year to come!

The winner of my “Learn to Crochet” giveaway is Linda J.  Congrats, Linda!  I’ll be contacting you to get your address info.

Happy New Year!

  • I will follow you on any site (sounds so stalkerish), Facebook, here, etsy, etc! I can’t go with you on your yarn diet, my stash is pretty lack luster. However, I will only buy what I need. I know you will accomplish all your goals for 2012! I hope I can help over the year, even if it’s only by written support or sending you items for your charity. Bring on 2012!

    And Congratulations Linda J.
