How To Crochet the Grit Stitch – Version 2
There are 2 different versions of the Grit Stitch. I’m calling this “Version 2″ for reference.
The grit stitch can be worked in any 2 chs + 1 extra.
1) sc in 3rd ch from hook, * skip next ch, (sc, dc) in next ch, repeat from * to last 2 chs, skip next ch, sc in last ch, turn.
2) ch1, dc in 1st sc, * skip next dc, (sc, dc) in next sc (see fig.1), repeat from * across, sc in last stitch.
I have inserted the silver hook behind the (sc, dc) from the previous row.
You will do (sc, dc) in the sc to the left. (brown stitch is the sc, white st is the dc)
If you’d like to practice this stitch on a dishcloth, I’m hoping to have a free pattern available tomorrow.
Happy Crocheting!

Thank you for another lovely tutorial.
Blessings,
Kate
I don’t think I’ve ever done this stitch. I’m off to find me some dishcloth cotton.
