Snappy Snowflake Pattern

Heidi from Snappy Tots is putting together a CAL Advent Calendar and asked if I would be interested in designing something for it.  Here is the snowflake pattern I made.  If you’re interested in joining the CAL visit Snappy Tots blog here.

Snappy Snowflake 


Finished Size: 
approx. 3” across

Materials: H any #3 sport weight yarn

  • Small amount of white
  • Size “E” crochet hook
  • Yarn Needle

Gauge:  not important for this project

Special Stitches:  picot stem = ch6, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, (ch3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook) twice, sl st in 1st 3 chs of stem

 

Begin with magic ring, ch1

Round 1: 12sc in magic ring, slip stitch to 1st sc, do not turn. (12 sc)

Round 2: ch1, sc in same sc as ch, ch3, sc in next sc, *sc in next sc, ch3, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, slip stitch in 1st sc, do not turn. (6 – ch3 sps)

Round 3:  (sc, ch1, sc, picot stem, sc, ch1, sc) in each ch3 space around, sl st to 1st sc.  Fasten off.
