Crochet for Me

I’ve been on a weight loss journey for some time now, and I finally feel like I’m making progress….even if it’s small progress.  I recently decided I was going to reward myself with a new outfit when I get there. Remember, this could be another year from now!  Then I thought, “Why am I not just making myself something?”  Most of us crafters give away all of our handmade items. In all the years I’ve been crocheting I think I only have one or two things I’ve made for myself. So that’s going to change. I’m not sure if I’ll use someone else’s pattern, or create my own, but I went searching for some ideas.

This skirt is my absolute favorite!!! It’s totally my style and I would make this for myself in a heartbeat!  Someone once said it was a Russian pattern, but I have yet to find a pattern, or the originator. If anyone knows where I can find this PLEASE let me know!   I have a friend who is Russian and I could have her translate it for me!

How about dainty? This dress is beautiful, but I might want something I can wear more often.

Or maybe something from Jennifer Hanson a.k.a. The Stitch Diva.

Crocheted Skirt

I could go on. There are so many amazing patterns out there! Do you make things for yourself? I’d love to hear your favorite things to make/wear.

Happy Crocheting!

  • That first skirt is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t know where it’s from, either, but it looks like the kind of thing Doris Chan designs. Maybe you could check with her? She might know where it’s from.

I do make things for myself. My favorites right now are shawls/wraps; I’m still pretty new at crocheting and these are easy but also luxurious. I just made my first hat. Trying to get up courage to try a sweater soon!

  • go to Pinterest and do a search for crocheted skirts and you would not believ e what comes up. The skirt you are looking for is there and if you click on the sites there are some patterns just keep clicking on the pics. I hope this helps

    • Sherri, thanks for the help. I actually did try to pinterest links but none of them had the pattern. Even the site based out of Russia said the pic was for inspiration but they didn’t know where the pattern was from. If you actually found the pattern and I missed it, I would love the link!

  • I could write the pattern for the skirt if I could see a better picture. I could write you one very similar on my own. Get in touch,
    Boocoos

    • Thanks, Boocoos. I can write up a pattern too, I just thought if anyone knew where the pattern was from I would gladly pay them for their hard work. I’ll let you know what I decide to do.

  • I think the first skirt is beautiful. I hope you are able to find the pattern for it. Most of what I make is given to others, but I did finish a shawl for myself this winter. I have two sweater tops on my “want to ” list that I hope I can find time for.

  • The top skirt, I actually saw it last night. The description said it was sewn from an old lace table cloth found at a thrift store and dip dyed.

  • For the skirt in the first picture, I found the paytern on pinterest. Check all the links and find the one that is listed on etsy. A girl on there is selling the pattern for $11 or$12. I have been deing to order it but have to finish the project I am working on right now, and the many more I have started. Lol.
