Reaching Out, One Stitch At a Time

Awareness Ribbons Afghan Project

This Awareness Ribbon Project is my newest work of {he}art.

I have been working on this design for months. I wanted to show my life, and just what is important to me. I also wanted to support so many of my friends. Most of us are either in the midst of a struggle and/or trial, or know someone who is. Whether you are in the midst of a trial, have overcome your trial, or have suffered the loss of a loved one, your strength is amazing! My friends, and all of you, who overcome amazing things, are the true inspiration for this project.

There are 64 different squares pictured, but 70 different square combos included, which represent every single awareness ribbon I could find. Everything from blindness, asthma, food allergies, eczema, loss of a child, domestic abuse survivor, every cancer imaginable, diabetes, CHD, POTS, downs syndrome, autism, and so many more. The pattern has 17 pages, including 3 full pages of every color combo I could find, with the meaning of each one, plus photo tutorials to help you make each type of ribbon.
