Flower Cluster Baby Afghan Set

It’s Wednesday! Usually my WIP is a secret, for fear that the recipient will see what I’m making, or even that it is for a publisher and I can’t show you. So, I was super excited when I realized that this week I can show you what I’m working on! It is for a gift, but I’m confident the recipients 1) isn’t on my blog, and 2) has no idea I’m making something for their baby.

You see, this baby blanket and hat set is actually for a waiter we know, who’s wife is pregnant. We go to NH every year for vacation up near Center Harbor/Lake Winnipesaukee region. There is this little mom & pop breakfast place known as Sunshine & Pa’s. We love the food, and Pat is by far the best waiter I’ve ever had my entire life. He remembers our names every year (all 8 of us)! He goes out of his way to make sure my food is piping hot because he knows moms don’t get hot meals too often. And he asks if you like your bacon crispy or more fatty. Those little things make all the difference in the serving industry! Last summer he told us that they had just found out his wife was expecting again. I knew I wanted to make something for them. So, here’s my WIP for this week. We’re hoping to make a quick trip up their for breakfast on Friday (Valentine’s Day).

The squares are almost all sewed together. I just need a name for this project! Please help me! If I choose the name you suggest you will win a copy of the pattern. The flower and squares are made completely from the cluster stitch. (if that helps you come up with a name)

Link to your projects this week, visit some other blogs, make some friends, and share some love. I hope you’ll join in and show off what you’re making. Post a photo of a project you’re in the middle of….as much or as little of it as you want. Crochet, knit, sewing, quilting, you name it. Add the link to your project (using the Mr.Linky tool). Feel free to copy & paste my “WIP” button to add to your entry or blog (not required). It’s a fun way to let us know what you’re up to.

I hope you’ll join in!
