2015 Word of the Year

A few years ago I read the book Knit Together: Discovering God’s Pattern for Your Life by Debbie Macomber. It was an amazing, thought provoking book. Two things I brought away from that book were:

1) Make a crazy bucket list (I will be making my new list in the next couple weeks).

2) Every year, pick a word for the year. Pray about it and find something you want to focus on.

I have been doing a lot of self-reflection for a couple months and after much thought and prayer my word for 2015 is…..

Believe

I’m going to believe things for both my personal life and my business for the coming year. I plan to change the way I think about certain things and, I believe, that it will be life changing for me.

This week I’ve been working through “A New Year for a New You” over at Marketing Creativity. It’s 7 days of thought provoking questions to help you take your creative business to the next level. Today was perfect for tying my word for this year together with her prompts for day 4. I am going to believe the following over my life in 2015.

  • Financial:

I believe there are enough finances to go around and I do not need to live in fear of lack.

  • Spiritual:

I believe God has a purpose and a plan for my life and for my business.

  • Mental:

I believe I can schedule my time and make the most of my days so I don’t feel stress.

  • Relational:

I believe my relationship with my husband and children will become even stronger.

  • Physical:

I believe I have the will power to reach my goal weight this year.

believe

I received this plaque from a friend and collegue for Christmas. This was confirmation that I had picked the right word for the year. (She had NO idea I was using that!) I have this displayed to look at every day, and will make this my motto for the year.

Over the next 12 months I will be reflecting back on this post and checking up on myself. Do you have a word for 2015?

  • Beautiful post! I believe you can achieve all you want through God’s help :-) I don’t have a word yet but have been pondering it for the last couple days.

  • I love this post. “Believe” is a wonderful word, and I myself am always mindful–especially in the world today–of the need to maintain my faith in God and my belief that he is always with us no matter what. My word for the year is “create,” and this includes my getting back to crocheting after my wrist surgery this past year. Happy New Year to you, and may all your beliefs be realized.
