First Impression: The more times I look through this book, the more thoroughly impressed I am with the use of stitches. Shibaguyz has come up with some great stitch combos that work well together. Match them with the right design and these projects just stand out.

Favorite Project: It was hard to narrow it down to one…. I would say probably be the Cabled Trio (shown below), but I also love the Duster and the Two-Way Top.

Review: I like the concept of this book. It’s not just sweaters, or just scarves, or just vests, etc.  Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby paired lots of different stitch combos with lots of different kinds of items. The result is designer projects that will appeal to a wide range audience. Not everything will be for everyone, but you will find style and class inside this book. In addition to the variety of stitches and projects, Mullett-Bowlsby uses broomstick lace and cables (my personal favorite) in quite a few of the projects.

On top of all the design work that went into this book, I think just about everything has been thought of. There are charts for all the patterns and schematics for many of them. The general information section includes info on choosing a pattern based on difficulty rating, substituting yarn, gauge, terms, abbreviations, as well as US to UK conversion chart.
