Breath of Life Shawl CAL – Finishing Touches

We’re at the end and ready to finish the Breath of Life shawl CAL. Below are the instructions for the finishing touches of your shawl. If you’re just joining us you can go back to the Getting Started post which has all the info you need for this CAL.

Lacy, ice blue & teal crocheted shawl.

Breath of Life Shawl CAL – Finishing

At this point you should have completed the shawl through Row 58.

Your section 2 may look like it doesn’t follow the same shape as section 1, but that is ok. There are more stitches in section 2, so when it is blocked it will become the correct shape.

Now it is time to block the shawl.

Gently soak shawl in cool water and drain as much of the water as possible – without wringing the shawl as you don’t want to distort the shape of the stitches.

Block to finished measurements – 55″ x 27″

  • Section 1 will block to 45″ wide x 22″ deep
  • Section 2 will block to 5″ wide around both sides of shawl

If you’d like a visual of the blocked dimensions CLICK HERE for the schematics.

Your beautiful shawl is now ready to wear.
