Coastal Crochet Book Review

I have a confession to make. I never liked the beach, or summer. I know, it’s not normal. But that all changed when we moved to the lake. I now have that appreciation for water and warm weather that most others do. That’s why I’m so excited to be showing you the new Coastal Crochet book by Karen Whooley!

(Please see the bottom of the post to find out how you can win a copy.)

First Impression: I love the whole concept of this book as well as the patterns themselves. The collection reminds me of summer – and who doesn’t love summer! But this book is so much more. You can be reminded of the beach all year long!

My Favorite Project Pick: It’s on the cover, but I’m adding another photo below. My absolute favorite pattern from the collection is the Storm tank. The texture, the design…..it just looks perfect.

Review

Waves, sea breeze, sunshine, sand. There is so much to love about the coast. While Karen refers to the west coast as her inspiration, I live on the complete opposite side of the country – on the east coast. I was instantly drawn in to the paradise that the ocean has to offer.

Made with basic crochet stitches, you can accomplish these patterns with some shaping and stitch combos. There are plenty of charts and schematics for those that need a little bit of visual help.

The book also includes all your general pattern info (gauge, terms, abbreviations), photo tutorial for the border, as well as exactly which yarns were used for each project, so you can match it exactly if you choose to.
