Thankful for Laughter – Day 5

I can’t believe we’re already at day 5. If you’re just joining us it’s our second annual “10 Days of Thanksgiving Crochet Event”.

LAUGHTER

Today is day 5 of our 10 Days of Thanksgiving and today we’re celebrating the laughter.

I don’t share my story too often, but when I realized day 5 was laughter I immediately knew what to be thankful for.

After my 4th child was born I had a miscarriage. If I didn’t think that was hard enough less than a year later I was pregnant with triplets and miscarried all 3 of them. I had complications from that for months afterwards. I remember sitting in church one Wednesday night and telling God I couldn’t do it anymore. I told Him I was tired of crying. I told him I just wanted him to fix the medical issues I was having and that I was done having babies. I just couldn’t bear to go through the pain again.

Less than 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant again. I kept telling my husband God obviously had a sense of humor and had other things in mind for our family.

So, when we found out it was a girl I immediately knew I wanted her middle name to be Joy. I knew that she was my gift from God and that he had given her to us to take away all the tears of the past couple years.

If you’ve ever heard there’s meaning to a name, let me just tell you that is totally true. From the day she was born she has lived up to the name.

God gave her to me to remind me to laugh daily.

She’s always smiling, she’s the eternal optimist, and she has a joy that can only be a gift.

I even call her Joy sometimes. It just fits.

Thank you God for bringing Joy into our lives and laughter into our hearts.
