Tidy Mind, Tidy Stitches
“How do you keep your yarn wrangling organised?”
This is a pretty easy topic for me seeing as I just organized my stash at the beginning of the year. I found that I wasn’t even looking to see if I had a yarn I could use first….I would just go buy something. So, to avoid my house being overrun with yarn, I decided to organize it so I’d know what I had. For me, organizing by weight made the most sense. So I made clear buckets for each weight of yarn (some weights had 2 buckets). Once I had organized by weight, I also tried to group colors together.
The key to all this was using clear plastic containers. Much of my yarn had previously been in buckets but I couldn’t see what was in the bottom. Now I have all my stash together in one place, and I can see what I have (and I was shocked to find out how much I really had). Hopefully this will help me use up much of my stash.
Happy Crocheting!
>This picture makes me so happy!
>I NEED those tubs!!!You saw how badly organised I am :)
>I did this with my fabric stash at the end of last year and was horrified how much I had that was at the back of a cupboard, forgotten about! The trouble with having it all on view is that my husband now knows exactly how much I've got and questions further purchases!I have very little yarn, but I'm working up to a bigger stash. I've been buying project by project until now!
>Lovely, so nice and neat and makes me drool. Love all that yarn. Is this heaven?
>Oh, that could be my stash. Right down to the number and size of the tubs. It does help to have it like that so you can see what you have. I'm glad to see you are participating. I've enjoyed visiting other blogs to see what they do.Have fun stash-busting!
>I predict my one lonely blue container will have friends next year this time.
