>Baby Crocheter? – Maybe Someday
>
This post should look at a different way to present content on your blog. This can take one of many forms, but here a few suggestions:
- Wordless, photographic post
- Video blog post
Today, I don’t have any tips, thoughts, etc. Just sharing how I have fun with my crochet.
My girls have been exposed to my crocheting all their lives, but my youngest is the only one, so far, to become obsessed with it.
It started with me doing little funny things, like this……
Then she proceeded to doing these kinds of things on her own…..
(watch the video – I shortened it as to not torture you with a whole minute of her talking to my crochet hook – LOL)
Now she’s just obsessed! If I have a hook in my hand, she thinks she has rights to it. She will scream until I give her one. I’ve created a monster! LOL
How young is too young to teach a child? Maybe if I channel her love of the hook she’ll be a master crocheter someday!
>Oh my gosh, so funny and so cute!!!!
>That is so cute, you have to foster her obvious love of the hook.
>That is a riot, she's SO excited about the hook! Definitely a future crochet addict.
>That is wonderful!! Save it, frame it, and use it for blackmail when she is about 13!
>She's a cutie!
>My granddaughter does something similar with knitting. I really think it's a good thing that we indoctrinate them early. :)Stopping in from Knitting and Crochet Blog Week. Our link is http://blog.mymummyknits.com/my-mummy-day-5/ where my granddaughter, 4.5, talks about her knitting mummy.
>Aww too cute XD
>What a cutie!! Love the video!!!
>Cute; what a great craft to pass on down.
>Too cute. Crochet is definitely meant to be passed on through the generations! I think you should go Tiger Mom on her and make her into a little crochet genius. :)
>I have a question! I am not a parent (yet) and I'm just wondering, at what age do you think a child could learn to knit, crochet, or sew? I could sew probably in 2nd grade, but I didn't pick up crochet until college. You sound like you'd have a good idea. Thanks in advance! PS Cute kid :)
>Janet,I tried to teach my older daughters to crochet at 7 & 8. The 7 year old slowly stuck it out and is now much better (she's 8 now). The 8 year old didn't like the fact that it didn't just come easy, so she stopped trying. She picked it back up this year and now she loves it. I think it depends on the child, but if they don't like it right away just try again in a few months, or the next year.
