Learning Tunisian Crochet

>I have a ‘someday’ list.  Mostly it’s in my head, but it’s things I’d like to try someday.  I’ve always wanted to give knitting a try, mostly just to say I tried, but there are other things too, like tunisian crochet (old people like me used to call it the afghan stitch).  The reason I haven’t given anything new a try?….

Mainly, I blame my kids. (lol – just kidding) It’s definately not their fault, but they are the reason.  For those that don’t know too much about the personal side of me, I have 6 children.  5 of them are age 9 and under.  I homeschool, and try to keep up with the laundry of 5 girls :D.  I don’t feel like taking time to focus on learning something that might not come natural to me, at least not right now.  BUT, my good blog friend Bev, from One Yarn After Another, just started a new blog called Titillating Tunisian.  She’s going to teach anyone interested, how to do tunisian.

I’m in!!!  My tunisian hook has been collecting dust for the past 10 years.  Hopefully I can find it.  She just started yesterday, so if you’re interested in joining us, you won’t be behind.  I’m so excited!  I can’t wait.

Happy Crocheting!

  • >Well, what a sweetheart you are to talk about my new blog. I hope it works out and I am able to share my love of Tunisian with everyone. It's quite a challenge to do it without sitting right by someone's side. I never realized how difficult it would be until I tried to come up with the right words and descriptions.

  • >I love this technique and have been doing it for 30 years. Definitely give it a try – I think you like it. You get to crochet with the look of knitting. Genius really!!!
