Crochet Post Stitches in Lace – Course Review

Post stitches are one of my favorite stitches! They can add so much texture to your project by just changing the placement of the dc. But post stitches in lace? I wasn’t really convinced that post stitches would work with lace patterns. After all, post stitches give a project texture and make them more dense, while lacy patterns are open and flowy. So what happens when you put the two together?

So, who is the course for?

Anyone willing to go beyond a basic stitch you can find in a pattern book? Do you like to step outside the box and change things up a bit? If either of the above describe you, then you’ll love this course.

What’s in the course?

Below is a breakdown of the sections, and a brief overview of what is covered in each of those sections. Each of the videos is between 5 and 15 minutes. These are perfect size, with enough info that the material is being covered completely, and yet there’s not a lot of fluff to fill in and make it longer than it needs to be.

Introduction – Quick video overview of what will be included in the course. It also covers how to navigate through the course, upload photos, ask questions, and get tech support if you need it.

Understanding Stitch Diagrams – This video walks you through reading stitch diagrams. Robyn makes it easy for beginners and a great refresher for those who already know how to read them. She also gives you some tips on how to easily remember what each symbol means.

Post Stitches – This covers everything you need to know about post stitches before adding them to your lace – working post stitches, an easy way to remember which is which, and knowing where to place them.

Working Lace – Robyn takes a lace pattern and shows how and where to add post stitches. She helps you figure out the best place to add them for the biggest visual impact.

Using Post Stitches in your Projects – Robyn compares regular stitch patterns and how they transform into something completely different when you add post stitches. I learned a lot from this section. I never knew lace could be transformed this way!

This class will change your way of thinking!

This course was not what I expected, it was better! I wasn’t sure I’d ever put post stitches in lace, but Robyn Chachula made me a believer when she took a regular lace pattern and out of it emerged a beautiful masterpiece!

The Crochet Post Stitches in Lace course was definitely worth taking for the mere fact that it has changed my way of thinking. I am already looking at stitch patterns differently and trying to see what I can add post stitches to!

Happy Crocheting!
