Finished Size: 5.5″ wide x 84″ long

Yarn: Red Heart Grande – #6 super bulky

3 – 5 oz. skeins (92 yds total)

Crochet Hook: Size P/Q (15 mm)

Abbreviations

ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
hhdc – herringbone half double crochet
yo – yarn over

Special Stitches:

Herringbone Half Double Crochet (hhdc) – yo, insert hook in next st, yo, pull loop through both the stitch and the first loop on hook, yo, pull through 2 loops.

Notes: If you would like to use less than 3 skeins of RH Grande there are 2 options. You can either start your beginning chain with less than 100. (Ex: If you start with 80 chains your scarf will be approx. 67″) OR Use a different brand/style yarn. (Ex: You would probably only need 1 or 2 skeins of Hometown USA).

Oversized HHDC Scarf Pattern

Ch 100.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hhdc in each ch across, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, hhdc in each st across, turn.

Rows 3 – 5: Rep Row 2.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
