Odyssey Cardigan Crochet Pattern

Introducting the Odyssey Cardigan…..because life has become an odyssey of sorts.

Exactly 3 months ago my husband started chemotherapy (you can read some of the back story here). I bought some yarn and decided I would work on a new design while he had his treatamens. Knowing they would be long days, I wanted to have something more intricate to keep me busy. It took me 12 weeks to complete. Ironically I ended up finishing the cardigan on the same day as his last treatment.

ODYSSEY CARDIGAN CROCHET PATTERN

The Odyssey cardigan pattern is good for advanced beginners who would like to try an easier garment. Because there is minimal shaping it is great for trying something a bit more advanced without anything that will be too confusing.

It’s the perfect cardigan for the cold spring days or cool summer nights. Layer it with a tank and you can wear it with your favorite pair of jeans or skirt.

MATERIALS LIST:

Finished Sizes: XS, Small, Med, Large, XL

Yarn: #2 fine/sport weight – Sample used: Premier Yarns Cotton Fair in Succulent

Hook: Size E/4 (3.5 mm). Change hook size to get correct gauge if needed.

Notions: Yarn Needle

Difficulty: Advanced Beginner

The pattern has a 2 row repeat. You will need to be familiar with chains, sc, and a variation of the cluster stitch (written directions included). This pattern is on the easier side for a garment with minimal shaping, but it will also be helpful to have some knowledge of armholes, etc (but not necessary).

Odyssey Cardi

I was so excited when I finished this and am extremely happy with the end result!

My goal is to write every pattern so that even a beginner is comfortable tackling a project. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised by the instructions.
