Spring Carrot Cocoon Free Crochet Pattern

Spring is a time for budding plants, flowers, and trees. Add a baby to the spring and there’s even more reason to celebrate. Dress up your new baby in this carrot cocoon for their first photo shoot. It’s sure to make memories.

CARROT COCOON PATTERN


Finished Size: 9 ½ ” X 17 ½ ” laying flat

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (Carrot or Pumpkin color)

Crochet Hook: Size I/9 (5.5 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle

Gauge: 10 dc = 4 inches



CARROT TOP HAT


Ch2,
Round 1: 9sc in 2nd ch from hook, slip stitch to 1st sc. (9 sc)

Round 2: * ch8, slip stitch in 2nd ch from hook, slip stitch in next 6 chs, in front loops only slip stitch to next hdc, slip stitch to 1st hdc.

Round 3: ch1, working in back loops only hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch to 1st hdc changing to orange. (18 hdc)

Round 4: ch1, hdc in 1st hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, * hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to 1st hdc. (27 hdc)

Round 5: ch1, hdc in each of 1st 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc, * hdc in each of next 2 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to 1st hdc. (36 hdc)
