love it…..can’t wait to try it out!!!!
Can you tell the English equivalent for yarn and hook? Many thanks
I used a #3 yarn, but held 3 strands together. The hook was an 8.0mm. Hope that helps. I didn’t see this comment, so I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I love it and no one can tell you that you cannot use the same stitch as stitches are the mechanics of a design and not copywriteable…This is an original design based on the facts that you do not use the same base row that she does, you use a totally differents edging, and this is a blanket not a washcloth….It is a very Beautiful baby blanket and thank you for sharing it with me…Frankie
im so overwhelmed by all these simple patterns to try, and i cannot wait to try them. many thanks, di
Thanks, Diane. Let me know if you have any questions.
I would love to know how to add a seatbelt hole so it can be used in place of some of the bulkier items….any thoughts?
You can just chain the number of stitches you want the opening to be and skip that number of stitches in the pattern. Just check beforehand. Some states have laws that you cannot have anything between the seatbelt and the child.
LOVE this pattern!!! Thanks so much for the link! I’ll be making this for both my granddaughters after the new year. I have a fixed income so I can’t just buy all the patterns I want… You’re a Godsend!
Your welcome! Would love to see pics when you’re done.
I just found this fun pattern to try. Can you tell me how I can convert it to using 100% cotton yarn. I only crochet in cotton with allergies to many of the babies I crochet things for. Thanks!
I’m new to crocheting, and this looks like a perfect starter project for me. I’m gonna give it a shot! :)
I think this would be a great lapgan project! Simple and functional .
Kristine, what would be good approximation for yarn purchase and chain count.
To make it approx. 40” x 48” (which would double the size) you would chain 92 and you will need 4 skeins of 3 separate colors. This was done with baby yarn, so if you use worsted you may also need to go up a hook size.
20×24 doesn’t have the look the picture does – it finishes more square than rectangular. Any comment?
Maybe because it is draped over the crib. Duh.
Glad you figured it out, Joy. :)
The store I like to patronize is not carrying this yarn. Is there a Yarn Bee substiture you would recommend? I am not smart enough to guess.
Any #3 weight will work. If you’re purchasing Yarn Bee the Baby Bee would work with it.
Thank you so much! I was clueless.
I enjoy making these because they keep my hands busy (but not my mind) when I have to sit still in some meeting. Plus, planning to donate them means I am doing something with a needed purpose.
I love making things to donate as well. Like you said, keeps your hands busy while helping someone else.
