Congratulations on your Best in Show win! I’ll be making this as soon as it gets a little cooler. It’s for my middle son, a veteran, he picked out the pattern and the yarn.

Hi. I’m just starting this pattern and it says to use a crochet hook I/9 (6mm). My I hook is 5.5mm and the J hook is 6mm. Which one should i use? Thank you.

I like the use of dlc but the instructions for the star are very confusing. There appears to be typo in round 3 of the star square. Please check

I just ordered this pattern. My youngest is scheduled to be deployed in a few months. When his unit, an Air National Guard, first started talking about their deployments, about 9 months ago, he asked me to make him a flag afghan. I have been searching for a pattern like this, you have made my day. Thank you, thank you.

Hi Tammy, I have 2 videos. The first is how to work the stars and the second video shows how to add the blue around them to make the star field. I don’t currently have a video for the stripes.

Can you tell me which shop you purchased the pattern from? The tutorials are only available with the purchase of the pattern so I just need to verify and I couldn’t find it with a quick search. Thanks for your understanding.

I also am in desperate need of your star tutorial for the American flag. I purchased this pattern 3 years ago. The stripes are gorgeous but I have procrastinated on the stars. I purchased fromm ambassador crochet on Etsy, 12/18/18.

Hi, thank you for your pattern, it’s beautiful and it’s moving for me thank you for the videos, i am a visual learner and this was a huge help. I have a question. When whip stitching the stars and triangles together, do you recommend doing as many as you can with the same piece of yarn, or do you recommend just doing a couple at a time?

I try to do them in strips with the same piece (less ends to tie in).

The stars are made and then the blue is crocheted around them so you don’t have to sew any of them on.
