Tech Editing FAQ
What are your rates?
Currently my rates are $30.00/hr. I do not charge a minimum. If it only takes me 15 minutes to edit your pattern, I will only charge you for 15 minutes of my time. If you would like me to recheck the pattern after changes have been made, I do not charge for this.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Paypal is the #1 form of online payment. I also accept personal checks, or money orders.
What is your turnaround time?
While turnaround time varies depending on my current workload, I can normally get a simple pattern edited and back to you within a few days. More complicated patterns will take longer.
In what format do I send the pattern to you?
I work primarily in Word 97-2003, Word 2007, Mac Pages, or Google Docs/Drive.
What happens after I send you my pattern?
Once I receive your pattern I will edit it using ‘tracking changes’ for a word doc. If you send me a pdf I will just type up my notes and send them back in an email. If I did the edit in Word by tracking the changes, you will then need to go in and either accept, or reject the changes I have made. Once you have checked your copy you will send it back to me so we can make sure we have made all changes correctly. I do not charge for rechecks.
Do you have any photos of patterns you have reviewed or reviews from designers who have used your services?
Absolutely! You can see my review page for reviews from designers, photos of their projects that I have tech edited for, and publishers I have worked with currently and in the past.
