Your pattern calls for an I-9 6.00mm hook. But an I-9 is a 5.5mm hook, including the one in the link you provided. A 6.00mm hook is a J hook. So do we need a 5.5mm or a 6.00mm hook for this project? Thank you.

      It’s a 5.5 mm – sorry for the confusion. It’s been corrected.

I am a beginner, do I have to make 10 chains in the magic ring?

You’re going to work 10 single crochet into the magic ring. To make it look the same as mine with the color changes you will need to work every other color, so you will have 5 white single crochet and 5 of the contrast color (but every other one).

How many rows of single crochet of each color do you use for this pattern?

It changes colors throughout each row so it’s not one row of one color and then one row of the next. (I hope that makes sense.)

Sorry but your pattern is a bit confusing, you don’t tell how many SC you start with to form the magic circle and where you start in it, i.e 4th st. or all the way back into the beg. chain or what and I can’t get the tutorial video on the part about the tapestry crochet to work at all. So can you please tell me how many times do I crochet to form my chain and where in it do I go to make my ring?
    Thank You for Your time,
    DawnMarie McCoy

Hello Ms DawnMarie, I hope I’m not intruding but I see where you are confused. The magic circle and how you were taught to make a circle, are two different things. For some reason I can’t get how to make the magic circle. So I chain stitch 4 or 3 times, the go into the last chain and make the required amount of stitches. It requires 5 single stitches of one color and 5 single stitches of the other color. I hope this helps.
    Thank-you 🦩🌸🦩
