Make this Easy Blanket with the Jackson Blanket Crochet Pattern

Are you looking for an easy blanket to expand on your new crochet skills? This pattern mixes basic stitch together to create visual effect that looks nothing like a “beginner” pattern.

The Jackson Blanket pattern has an easy 4 row repeat. Four rows doesn’t sound easy, but I promise, once you learn the stitches all you’ll have to worry about is finding time to sit and crochet.

This pattern is great for a beginner. Whether you’re just learning the basic stitches, or are an adventurous beginner, this pattern will have you ready to jump right in!

The Inspiration Behind the Design

As the story goes…..

There were 2 young adults that met in college and fell in love.

After they got married they settled down and had their first son.

The college they attended was in Jackson, so their first baby was named after the place they fell in love.

(True story)

  • In the pattern, you refer to “special stitches” however there are no directions for special stitches.
I know how to do a Xdc stitch. Should I apply that same instruction for the Hdc Xst? Is the Hdc Xst placed in the space left by the skipped st of the row below? Please advise.

  • Can I use a #5 worsted weigh yarn with an 6 nook with this baby blanket? I’m starting the third row now. My pattern isn’t as clear as yours in the picture. So, I don’t wont to go any further in the blanket if this yarn will be to chunky for this pattern.
