Winter Beanie with Flower
This is made in a tween size but you could easily add a few rows to make it adult size.  The diameter is stretchy and the stitch count will work for either size.
I used Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Blossom and a size N hook.
ch4, slip stitch to 1st ch to form ring.
Round 1:  ch3, 11dc in ring. (12 dc)
Round 2:  2dc in beg ch3 and in each dc around (24 dc)
Round 3:  ch2, dc in 1st dc, 2dc in next dc, *dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, repeat from * around, slip st in beg ch2. (36 dc)
Round 4:  ch2,  dc in 1st dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, *dc in next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc, repeat from * around. (48 dc)
Round 5-8:  ch2, dc in each dc. (48 dc)
Round 9-10:  sc in each stitch around. (48 sc)
Fasten Off.

  1. Hi! I love your pattern! When you say “tween size,” would you be able to tell me a diameter? I am looking for a cute pattern for a 5 year old. This is super cute, yet simple, so its perfect!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

    • Krista,

By tween it will fit approx 8 – 12 year olds. You could go down a couple of hook sizes to see if it would change it enough to fit a 5 year old.

  2. Would this work if I am using a medium gauge wool and if so, do I have to make changes to the measurements?

    • This was bulky yarn so I don’t think your gauge would be the same. You would probably have to add more rounds to make it big enough.

  3. Your gauge would be appreciated information.

    • Hi Pat, Let me see if I can find the hat (I believe my daughter still has it). I will measure the gauge and get back to you.

  4. why can’t I find a pattern for a pre-teen’s beret hat.
