12 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 6 – Military

It’s Day 6 of the 12 Days of Thanksgiving, and today we’re thankful for our service men and women who serve and protect our country.

If you’re just joining the 12 Days of Thanksgiving event, here’s the details.

I’ve teamed up with a few designer friends. Each day I’ll share something we’re grateful for, and then we will each offer a pattern or two, that relates to the day’s theme, for 50% OFF.

Please make sure you visit and support these amazing designers. They are talented, giving, and wonderful people and I’m truly grateful for their friendships.

DAY 6 – OUR MILITARY MEN, WOMEN, AND THEIR FAMILIES

I don’t want to let these 12 days go by without honoring our military servicemen and women, and their families. To me, there is something so humbling about someone willing to give up their life to protect my/our freedom and our country’s freedom.

“The veterans of our military services have put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we enjoy. They have dedicated their lives to their country and deserve to be recognized for their commitment.” ~ Judd Gregg

12 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING – SALES EVENT

When I designed the American Flag afghan I decided I wasn’t going to do it unless I could do it right. So, I found schematics for the real American flag (dimensions based on percentages. Ex: star is .75 of a row, etc). It was a huge project that took months of planning and calculating. The stars are incorporated right into the blanket, so there’s not sewing them on, and the stripes more like a fabric so there are no holes between stitches (and it’s not sc).

The Stars & Stripes Collection was a way to honor the red, white, and blue and the Freedom Shawl is one of my favorite pieces from that collection.

The Liberty Star Baby Blanket is the perfect gift for someone expecting that is in the military or just someone who loves to support their country.

Living in the country, and growing up on a farm, I love the look of rustic patriotic decor. Rustic was the inspiration for the Patriotic Archway Throw pattern.

Check back tomorrow for day 2 of why we’re thankful & blessed.

Happy Crocheting!
