- Baby – 21.75 oz/ 1553 yds
- Small Throw – 37.75 oz/2711 yds

Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5 mm)
Notions: Yarn Needle
Gauge: 4 repeats x 14 rows = 4.25” in pattern
Difficulty: Beginner: Uses a mixture of basic stitches together to create a visual effect.

ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
yo – yarn over

Notes:
- Caron x Pantone has been discontinued. Feel free to use any #4 worsted weight yarn. If you’re looking for a similar yarn, a good alternative is Caron Colorama Bamboo Blend or Simply Soft.
- The #4 yarn used in the sample was a thinner worsted yarn. If you use a typical worsted (ex: RHSS, I Love This Yarn!, etc.) your blanket may come out larger than the finished sizes listed.
- Pattern is worked in multiples of 4+3.
- Feel free to use as many or as few colors as you would like.

Please Note: To make this look the same as mine, I used 5 colors. Work these colors in the following order: A, B, C, D, E, D, C, B (then repeat).
Blanket
Ch 87.
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped chs count as first dc), 2 dc in same ch, *ch 1, sk next 3 ch, 3 dc in next ch, rep from * across, turn. (22 groups of 3-dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *ch 1, 3 dc in center skipped ch of foundation ch, repeat from * across to last 3 dc, ch 1, dc in top of beg ch-3, turn. (21 groups of 3-dc)
Row 3: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in center dc 2 rows below, *ch 1, 3 dc in center dc 2 rows below, rep from * across, turn. (22 groups of 3-dc)
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *ch 1, 3 dc in center dc 2 rows below, rep from * across to last 3 dc, ch 1, dc in top of beg ch-3, turn. (21 groups of 3-dc)
Rows 5-102: Repeat Rows 3 & 4.
Do not fasten off. Turn at end of last row.
Border (optional)
Round 1: Ch 1, *sc in each st across, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each row-end down side, 3 sc in corner st, rep from * once, sl st in first sc to join.
Border ideas – work all one color, or work one round of each color used.
Fasten off.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong. With the beginning chain of 87 and following the pattern – I’m ending up with 43 dc groups of 3 instead of 22. ‘Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped chs count as first dc), 2 dc in same ch, *ch 1, sk next ch, 3 dc in next ch, rep from * across, turn. (22 groups of 3-dc)’
Is it suppose to be skip 2 chains between each group?
With that many groups, the blanket starts flaring with the second row. Help, please
