Serenity Hand Towel & Washcloth Set

Do you ever just wish you could spruce up your house without spending a lot? Just something extra to make you smile? That was the intention behind the Serenity Hand Towel and Washcloth Set. Make it in your own colors and it will add a bit of peace and serenity to your space. Can be used for the kitchen towels just by changing the colors.

And while I was creating this I realized I liked the name of this because it makes me think of more relaxed times. So, be on the lookout for more items that will be added to the Serenity Collection…..coming soon!


MATERIALS


Finished Sizes: 

  • Hand Towel – 14.5″ wide x 21.5″ long
  • Washcloth – 7″ x 7″

Yarn:  #3 DK/light worsted – approx 8.5 oz/500 yds (will make 1 hand towel & 2 washcloths)


Crochet Hook: Size G (4 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle

Gauge: 8 sts x 16 rows = 4” in pattern

Difficulty: Beginner: Uses beginner stitches with no shaping.

Abbreviations:

ch – chain
dc – double crochet
rep – repeat
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
yo – yarn over

Notes:

  • One skein is enough to make 1 hand towel and 2 washcloths, if you choose to make a solid color set. 
  • Easy 1 row repeat once pattern is set up.
  • Ch 1 at the beg of the row does not count as a st. 
  • Use brighter colors and make yours a kitchen set.

Ch 29.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, dc in last ch, turn. (14 sc, 14 dc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first dc, dc in sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from * across, turn. 

Rows 3 – 26: Repeat Row 2.

Fasten off.



Hand Towel


With MC, ch 59.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, dc in last ch, turn. (29 sc, 29 dc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first dc, dc in sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc; rep from * across, turn. 

Rows 3 – 7: Repeat Row 2, change to CC at end of row 7, turn.

Rows 8 – 10: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change to MC at end of row 10, turn.

Rows 11 – 13: Repeat Row 2, change to CC at end of row 13, turn.

Rows 14 – 16: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change to MC at end of row 16, turn.

Rows 17 – 68: Repeat Row 2, change to CC at end of row 68, turn.

Rows 69 – 71: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change to MC at end of row 71, turn.

Rows 72 – 74: Repeat Row 2, change to CC at end of row 74, turn.

Rows 75 – 77: Ch 1, sc in each st across, change to MC at end of row 77, turn.

Rows 78 – 84: Repeat Row 2, turn.

Fasten off.
