Baby Bowtie & Beanie Free Crochet Pattern Set

BABY BOWTIE & BEANIE PATTERN SET


Finished Size: 0-3 months, 3-6 months

Yarn: #4 worsted weight (3.5 oz)
Sample used: Red Heart Eco Ways Recycled Blend (This has been discontinued but any #4 would be a suitable alternative.

Crochet Hook: Size H/8 (5 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle

Gauge: 4 hdc = 1 inch

HAT PATTERN


0 – 3 MONTHS – (UP TO 14” CIRCUMFERENCE)


Ch2,
Round 1: 9hdc in 2nd ch from hook, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc, do not turn. (9 hdc)

Round 2: ch1 (does not count as hdc throughout this pattern), 2hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch in top of 1st hdc. (18 hdc)

Round 3: ch1, hdc in 1st hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (27 hdc)

Round 4: ch1, hdc in 1st hdc, hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 2 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (36 hdc)

Round 5: ch1, hdc in 1st 3 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 3 hdc, 2dc in next dc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (45 hdc)

Round 6: ch1, hdc in 1st 12 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 12 hdc, 2dc in next dc, hdc in last 9 hdc, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (48 hdc)

Round 7: ch1, hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch to 1st hdc. (48 hdc)

Round 8 – 14: Repeat round 7.
Fasten off.


3 – 6 months – (14.5 to 16” circumference)


Ch2,
Round 1: 9hdc in 2nd ch from hook, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc, do not turn. (9 hdc)

Round 2: ch1 (does not count as hdc throughout this pattern), 2hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch in top of 1st hdc. (18 hdc)

Round 3: ch1, hdc in 1st hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (27 hdc)

Round 4: ch1, hdc in 1st hdc, hdc in next hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 2 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (36 hdc)

Round 5: ch1, hdc in 1st 3 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 3 hdc, 2dc in next dc, repeat from * around, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (45 hdc)

Round 6: ch1, hdc in 1st 4 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 4 hdc, 2dc in next dc, hdc in last 9 hdc, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (54 hdc)

Round 7: ch1, hdc in 1st 12 hdc, 2hdc in next hdc, *hdc in next 12 hdc, 2dc in next dc, hdc in last 2 hdc, slip stitch to top of 1st hdc. (58 hdc)

Round 8: ch1, hdc in each hdc around, slip stitch to 1st hdc. (58 hdc)

Round 9 – 15: Repeat round 7. Fasten off.


BOWTIE


Neckstrap
ch50, dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in each dc across. Fasten off.

Bow – 3” across


Ch30
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across to last ch, slip stitch in last ch, turn. (29 sc)

Row 2 – 5: ch1, sc in each sc across, turn. Fasten off leaving a long tail. Use tail to sew two shortest ends of bow together, forming a circle.

Ch25. Fasten off. Put bow loop over neckstrap. Use this to chain piece to wrap center of bow and hold in place on neckstrap. Add button to one end of neckstrap.
