Finished Size: Baby – 28” x 32”

Yarn: #4 worsted weight
Sample used: Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek in Viridescent
- 21 oz/985 yds
Crochet Hook: Size I/9 (5.5 mm)
Notions: Yarn Needle
Gauge: 8 repeats x 15 rows = 4” in pattern
Difficulty: Beginner: Uses a mixture of basic stitches together to create a visual effect.
Stitches Used:
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together
yo – yarn over

Notes:
- Total stitch count is provided at the end of each row. If there is no total then it is the same as the previous row.
- For body of blanket: The sc2tog in Row 1 will be worked into chain spaces.
- For round 3 of border: The esc will be worked over the ch from round 2 and into the sc from round 1.
Special Stitches:
- sc2tog (single crochet 2 together) – insert hook in ch-1 sp, yo, pull up loop, insert hook in top of prev sc2tog, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 3 loops.

Driftstone Blanket (baby size)
Ch 109.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *sc2tog, ch 1, rep from * across to last ch, sc in last ch, turn. (53 sc2tog; 53 ch-1 sps; 2 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, *work sc2tog (see Special Stitches), ch 1, rep from * across, sc in last sc, turn.
Rows 3 – 116: Repeat Row 2.

Border
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in st and sp across last row, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each row-end down side, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each ch across bottom, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each row-end up side, 3 sc in corner st, sl st in first st to join.
Round 2: Ch 1, esc in 1st sc, ch 1, *[esc in next st, ch 1] across to corner, work (esc, ch 1, esc) in corner st, rep from * around, sl st in first st to join.
Round 3: Ch 1, *[working over ch-sp from row 2 esc in sc from row 1] across to corner, work (sc, ch 1, sc) in corner sp, rep from * around, sl st in first st to join.
Fasten off.
