Cowls are my favorite crochet item to make for myself. There’s just something cozy about wrapping a cowl around my neck to keep me warm. The Pine Grove Cowl will work up quickly and will be ready to wear with your favorite jacket in no time.
PINE GROVE COWL – FREE CROCHET PATTERN
Finished Size: 23.5″ circumference x 10.5″ tall
Yarn – #5 bulky weight – 5 oz./150 yds
Samples used:

– Patons Shetland Chunky Deep Moss
Hook: K/10.5 (6.50 mm)
Gauge: 10 sts and 12 rows = 3.5”

blo – back loop onlych – chain
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
yo – yarn over

Cowl
Ch 68, sl st in 1st ch to join making sure not to twist beg ch.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around, sl st in 1st sc to join. (68 sc)
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, sc blo in next sc, *sc in next sc, sc blo in next sc, rep from * around, sl st in 1st sc to join. (34 sc, 34 sc blo)
Round 3: Ch 1, sc blo in 1st sc, sc in next sc, *sc blo in next sc, sc in next sc, rep from * around, sl st in 1st sc to join.
Rounds 4 – 31: Rep Rounds 2 – 3.
Round 32: Ch 1, sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.
