Summer Breeze Poncho Crochet Pattern

Little girls love to dress the same as their dolls. Now they can do just that with the Summer Breeze Poncho crochet pattern. It’s perfect for those summer days where there is a slight breeze and you just need a bit of something extra.

Made with beginner stitches and just a bit of shaping you’ll be done and your little girl and her doll will be ready to add these to their wardrobe in no time.

MATERIALS


Finished Sizes: 18″ doll, 4/6, 8/10


Yarn: #4 worsted cotton
Sample used: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice

  • 18″ Doll – 150 yds
  • 4/6 – 300 yds
  • 8/10 – 450 yds


Crochet Hook: J/10 (6 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle, 3/4″ ribbon


Abbreviations: 

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • sc – single crochet
  • sk – skip
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • tr – treble
  • yo – yarn over

Special Stitches:

Treble (tr) – yo twice, insert hook in st, yo, pull up a loop,
(yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) 3 times.

PONCHO CROCHET PATTERN


DOLL

Ch 33 loosely,
Round 1: Working in back ridge of beg ch sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch
across, making sure not to twist row, sl st in 1st sc to form a ring. (32 sc)

Round 2: Ch 5 (counts as tr and ch1), *(tr, ch1) in next sc; rep from * around, sl st
in 1st tr to join. (32 tr, 32 ch1 sps)

Round 3: Ch 5 (counts as tr and ch1), (tr, ch1) in each of next 2 tr, [tr, ch1] 2 times
in next tr, *(tr, ch1) in each of next 3 tr, [tr, ch1] 2 times in next tr; rep from *
around, sl st in 1st tr to join. (40 tr, 40 ch1 sps)

Round 4: Ch 5 (counts as tr and ch1), *(tr, ch1) in next sc; rep from * around, sl st
in 1st tr to join. (40 tr, 40 ch1 sps)

Round 5: Repeat Round 4.

Round 6: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining ch, sc in ch1 sp, *sc in next tr, sc in next
ch1 sp; rep from * around, sl st in 1st tr to join. (80 sc)

Round 7: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, ch3, sk next sc, *sc in next sc, ch3, sk next sc; rep
from * around, sl st in 1st sc to join. (40 sc, 40 ch3 sps)

Fasten off. Weave ribbon under every 4th treble stitch of Round 2.

Ch 49 loosely,
Round 1: Working in back ridge of beg ch sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch

Round 3: Ch 5 (counts as tr and ch1), (tr, ch1) in each of next 2 tr, [tr, ch1] 2 times
in next tr, *(tr, ch1) in each of next 3 tr, [tr, ch1] 2 times in next tr; rep from *
around, sl st in 1st tr to join. (60 tr, 60 ch1 sps)

Round 4: Ch 5 (counts as tr and ch1), *(tr, ch1) in next sc; rep from * around, sl st

Rounds 5 – 9: Repeat Round 4.
