Soulmate Washcloth Crochet Pattern {Free}

Make yourself with a new washcloth with the Soulmate washcloth crochet pattern.

This pattern is great for adventurous beginners that want to try new stitches.

MATERIALS


Finished Sizes: 8.25″ x 8.25″

Yarn:  #4 worsted weight cotton – 1 oz/50 yds

  • Sample used: KnitPicks Dishie in Silver


Crochet Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle

Gauge: 6 repeats x 4.5 rows = 4” in pattern

Difficulty: Adv. Beginner: Uses a combination of stitches, with no shaping.

Abbreviations: For a full list of abbreviations, please see my List of Abbreviations.

Special Stitches:

  • Beginning cluster (beg cl) – (Ch 2, dc) in first ch-1 sp. (ch 2 and dc counts as beg cl).
  • Cluster (cl) – yo, insert hook in next ch-sp, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, insert hook in same ch-sp, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook.
  • Cluster v-st (cl v-st) – (cl, ch 1, cl) in same st or sp.


Notes:

  • One ball of Dishie is enough to make 3 washcloths. 
  • Easy 1 row repeat once pattern is set up.
  • To change the size, work the beg chain in multiples of 3+6.
  • Change to brighter colors and make it a dishcloth for the kitchen.

Washcloth

Ch 37,
Row 1: (beg cl, ch 1, cl) in 4th ch from hook, *sk next ch, cl v-st in next ch, rep from *
across to last 2 chs, sk next ch, dc in last ch, turn. (11 cl v-sts, 2 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3, *cl v-st in next ch-1 sp, rep from * across, dc in last dc, turn. (11 cl v-sts, 2
dc)

Rows 3 – 30 (or until square): Repeat Row 2. Fasten off.

Border

Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around, sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off.
