By the Seashore Baby Blanket

So many of us love to spend our vacations by the seashore. Whether it’s basking in the sun or looking for shells and building sand castles. It’s just so relaxing. Now you can give baby that same feeling with the By the Seashore blanket.

Using a shell variation and variegated yarn, this blanket has so much texture and color. And by using a lighter weight yarn the blanket is perfect for warmer weather.

The By the Seashore blanket is part of the Beach Getaway Collection. A collection of patterns created of items that you can bring with you on your beach getaway, or use them to remind you of the warm days to come. Either way, hopefully they will bring you to a relaxing place.

Beach Getaway = a place where you can escape for relaxation or vacation

My intent for the Beach Getaway Collection was to have a set of patterns that would remind you of your favorite vacation (or vacation home). The collection will be mostly blankets because they’re great for cuddling up on cool summer nights with someone you love.

If you’d like to see all the patterns from the Beach Getaway Collection you can find them at the bottom of this post.

  • This is a LOVELY blanket but does it come in adult sizes?? I’d LOVE to snuggle up on the couch with it but hubby would want me to SHARE it so I’d need a double adult size. LOVE your work. REALLY just discovering the LARGER SCOPE of it at your Ravelry shop. QUITE awesome diversity of work.!! ALSO, I LOVE the Sweet Bay magnolia throw and a few other items on the page with it and the GROUP it comes with BUT I DON’T DO CLOTHES at all–just shawls n hats. There’s a lovely shawl in that group I LOVE along with the Sweet Bay Magnolia thow . Are you from the South? I just found the GRIT stitch dishcloth on your Ravelry shop-that + Sweet Bay Magnolia =SOUTH to me. HAHAHAHAHAHAA Thanks for all your wonderful work and EASY stitches n all over work.

    • Hi Susie!
Thank you so much! I am not from the south, but I have always loved the south and now my daughter is in college down there so that was my inspiration for the Sweetbay Magnolita Throw.
The reason the By the Seashore is only in blanket size is because it was made with #3 sport weight yarn and I feel like it would take forever to make a larger size (I’m a slow crocheter). The pattern does come with a stitch mulitple so you could resize it on your own…..or I could possibly at some point make it with a larger weight yarn and adult sizes. Now I have something to consider… Thanks!
