Easy Crochet Ripple Blanket Pattern {Free}

This beginner-friendly throw has an easy ripple pattern.

This Heathered Ripple throw features and easy ripple pattern with large, bulky stripes in beautiful heather colors. It would also look stunning in solid colors!

The blanket pattern is beginner friendly and adds a bit to your crochet experience. It makes a great throw for the back of your couch or favorite chair!

MATERIALS


Finished Sizes: 

  • Lapghan – 42.5” x 44”
  • Throw – 48” x 56” 
  • Large Throw – 77” x 87.5”


Yarn: #5 bulky/chunky
Sample used: Premier Yarns Anti Pilling Bamboo Chunky

  • Earl Gray – 655 (917, 1310) yds
  • Blueberry Pie – 262 (393, 655) yds 
  • Boysenberry – 262 (393, 524) yds


Crochet Hook: L/11 (8 mm)

Notions: Yarn Needle

Gauge: 1 rep (peak to peak) x 7 rows = 4.5″ in pattern


Abbreviations: 

  • blo – back loop only
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • yo – yarn over

Notes: 

  • Pattern is written in lapghan size with throw and large throw in parentheses.
  • To change blanket size, adjust beg chain in multiples of 12 +3.
  • Peak counts at the end of each row do not include the half peaks at the ends.






EASY RIPPLE BLANKET CROCHET PATTERN

Ch 123 (135, 219).
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped 3 chs counts as dc), dc in next 4 ch, sk 2 ch, dc in next 5 ch, *ch 2, dc in next 5 ch, sk next 2 ch, dc in next 5 ch, rep from * across to last dc, dc in next 4 ch, 2 dc in last ch, turn. (9, 10, 17 peaks)

Row 2: Ch 2, dc in same st as ch 2, *dc in each of next 4 dc, sk next 2 dc, dc in next 4 dc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-2 sp, rep from * across to last st, 2 dc in last dc, turn. 

Rows 3-63 (91, 133): Repeat Row 2.



BORDER (optional)


Work sc in each row-end down both sides of blanket.
