The Coronado c2c baby blanket is a great beginner-friendly corner-to-corner pattern. By using self-striping yarn you can create some striped effects that will change based on your color and yarn choices.

- Preemie – 20” x 24”
- Baby – 28” x 34”
Yarn: #3 DK/ light worsted
Sample used: Caron Skinny Cakes in Melon Smoothie – 8.8 oz/795 yds
- Preemie – 6.5 oz/590 yds
- Baby – 9.5 oz/825 yds
Hook Size: Size H/8 (5.0 mm)

- Skipped 2 chs at beg of each row counts as 1st hdc throughout pattern, unless otherwise noted.
- C2C instructions are written separately from color changes. If you don’t need the c2c instructions you can skip to the color change written pattern or graph.

Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped 2 chs counts as 1st hdc here and throughout), hdc in next 2 chs, turn. (1 box made)
Row 2: Ch 5, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 2 chs, sl st in ch-2 sp (of prev row’s block), ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 3 hdc in same ch-2 sp, turn. (2 blocks)
Row 3: Ch 5, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 2 chs, *sl st in ch-2 sp (of prev row’s block), ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 3 hdc in same ch-2 sp; rep from * across, turn. (3 blocks)
Rows 4 – 38 (52): Rep Row 3, increasing 1 block each row.
Row 39 (53): Ch 5, hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 2 chs, *sl st in ch-2 sp (of prev row’s block), ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 3 hdc in same ch-2 sp; rep from * across to last block, sl st in last ch-2 sp, (do not work block in last ch-2 sp), turn. (38, 52 blocks)
Row 40 (54): Sl st in next 2 hdc, *ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 3 hdc in ch-2 sp, sl st in next ch-2 sp; rep from * across to last block, ch 2, work 3 hdc in last ch-2 sp, turn. (38, 52 blocks)
Rows 41 (55) – 45 (63): Rep Rows 39 and 40.
Row 46 (64): Sl st in next 2 hdc of last block made, *sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 2, 3 hdc in same ch-2 sp, rep from * across to last block of prev row, sl st in last ch-2 sp, turn (do not inc).
Repeat Row 46 (64) until 1 square remains.
Fasten off.
