Learn How to Crochet the Ashford Allure Cable Pattern

The Ashford Allure crochet cable strip is inspired by the timeless beauty of traditional Irish cables. With its twisting stitches and textured design, it captures the look and feel of classic Aran-style knitting, but worked entirely in crochet.

As part of the Adventure in Cables Blanket CAL, this pattern will teach you how to work the cable so you can work it into your blanket, or use it for any number of projects.

What is the Adventure in Cables Blanket?

Remember those choose-your-own-adventure books?!

That’s where the idea was born. Create a blanket that everyone can choose their own path and make a blanket as unique as they are.

We hashed out a lot of details for this one, but it’s going to help you create an amazing blanket.

  • In the list of stitches and the special stitches, you have them listed as:
FPdc – Front Post double crochet
    FPtr – Front Post treble
However, in the notes section and in the pattern, you have them listed as:
    Straight cable sections use FPdc.
    Crossed cable sections use FPdtr.

Is the FPtr and FPdtr the same stitch, just a typo?
