The Sweetbay Magnolia Throw crochet pattern is a great design for the advanced beginner. It uses basic stitches combined together to create an alternating pattern. I combined the sprig stitch along with some v-stitches to create an alluring, soft blanket that will compliment any decor.
This crochet pattern is great for an adv beginner, but skilled crocheters will enjoy it as well.
The Design Inspiration
At the time I was starting to design this blanket I was “stuck” in Mississippi. My daughter is in college there and needed surgery, so I flew from CT to MS to be with her. Long story short, one week turned into almost three weeks that I was away from home and my other children.
But while I was there I was so amazed at the southern hospitality. The family of my daughter’s college friend took us in for one of the weeks and one of her professors took us in for one of the weeks. They fed us and made us feel like family. Let me just say, I tend to be like this, but most people in New England aren’t (which could explain why some people say I should’ve been born in the south).
So, the Sweetbay Magnolia Throw is just one of the things that I loved about the south while I was there (I could live without the heat).
